What We Believe

We promise:

  • To listen! Your curls, your life, your goals and challenges.

  • To communicate clearly about the time, expense and upkeep of all of our services

  • To honor your journey and experience, from the tough stuff to the joyful exhilaration of attaining the curls you want

  • A positive, soothing, and fun environment—no judgement, no shame, no assumptions.

We ask of you, our valued guests:

  • Arrive with your hair dry, down, detangled and with accessories removed.

  • Make appointment cancellations and adjustments at least 48 hours in advance.

  • Be considerate and respectful of your stylist’s and other clients’ space and experience.

  • Be aware that the work we do is often deeply personal and requires the stylist’s full attention. You are most welcome to bring a friend with you for your visit. As our space is limited we may ask that larger groups wait elsewhere.

  • Children are amazing. We are committed to ending the legacy of curl-related childhood trauma by welcoming curly humans of all ages into our community. Please be patient with and respect the needs and personal space of our littlest clients.

  • Join us in not assuming other folks’ identities. Please use “they/them” pronouns instead of “she/her” or “he/him” with our staff until you know someone’s preferred pronouns. For example: “ They just cut my hair and I can’t wait to see them again!” We know this might be an unfamiliar and uncomfortable concept for some of our guests. That is ok! We encourage you to ask questions about it! Curl Power staff members are happy to help you figure out this new, inclusive, and joyful world of non-gendered language.
